Niels Dengsø Jensen steps down as Chairman of the DLG Group

Announcement by Niels Dengsø Jensen
Today, I have informed the Board of Directors and the Management that I wish to step down as Chairman of the DLG Group and pass on the baton with immediate effect.

Being the Chairman of the DLG Group demands one’s full attention, a large share of dedication, and putting DLG first before anything else. This has always been my guiding star throughout my years as Chairman.

The last few months, during which the case concerning Biocirc has taken up a significant amount of attention, have been very tough and challenging both for DLG and for me personally. And even though an independent legal investigation at the end of March dismissed any doubt about my actions in the case, and I subsequently received unequivocal support from my board to continue as chairman, I have come to the difficult decision that it is necessary for me to step down now as the Chairman of the DLG Group. Recently, I have noticed a range of physical warning signs, which make it necessary for me to slow down the pace.

As previously announced, I had planned to step down in spring 2026. This is now moved forward to make it possible for DLG to continue at the required high speed. Meanwhile, this helps me continue at the pace which is necessary for me currently.

I look back on my many years as Chairman of DLG with great joy. The business has grown, and the company has evolved into its current position as a strong market-leading player.

A few years ago, we, at DLG, decided to commercialise the green transition and create new opportunities for us, the owners of DLG. With Peter Giørtz-Carlsen onboard as the new CEO of the DLG Group, I am convinced that we have set the right direction for the further development of our company.

I would like to thank the Board of Directors and the Chairmanship for our excellent cooperation and the high degree of mutual trust. Thank you to the Board of Representatives for our active and dedicated dialogues. Thank you to the Management and all employees for working hard for DLG and our shareholders. I wish DLG and you all the best.

In connection with my decision to step down as the Chairman of the DLG Group, I will also resign as DLG’s representative at AP Pension. Subsequently, the AP Pension General Meeting on 9 April will be my final assignment as the Chairman of AP Pension.

Announcement by the DLG Group
After 18 years as Chairman of the DLG Group, Niels Dengsø Jensen he has informed the DLG Board of Directors that he wishes to step down.

Niels Dengsø Jensen was elected for the DLG Board of Directors in 2001. At the time, DLG’s primary business operations were located in Denmark and the DLG turnover amounted to 11bn DKK. However, Niels Dengsø Jensen joined the Board with visions and an international outlook. Since 2007, when he took over as Chairman of the Board, he has played a significant role in the development of DLG into an international company.

”The Board of Directors has fully supported Niels as Chairman of the Board, but, of course, we respect his decision to step down. In his capacity as Chairman, Niels has made a great mark on DLG, and he has been vital to the development of the company. Most recently, he has helped initiate the transformation of DLG which is set to further strengthen the company in the long and short run. On behalf of all parts of the DLG Group, I would like to thank Niels for his major contributions,” says Carl Christian Lei.

The board has constituted itself with Carl Christian Lei as chairman and Carsten Hänel as vice-chairman.

"I have agreed to take on the role until the next election to ensure stability and continuity in the leadership of DLG. I do not necessarily see myself as chairman in the long term, so towards the election in 2026, we will initiate a structured process to ensure that there will continue to be the right competencies in both the chairmanship and the board," says Carl Christian Lei.
